Bud Ward, MPT, Bowie Clinic Director
Bud Ward graduated from Salisbury University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology after returning from Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. He received his Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Since graduating, he has worked as a physical therapist and director in outpatient therapy clinics in corporate practice, private practice, and The Johns Hopkins Hospital.
His training includes advanced coursework in manual therapy, spinal dysfunctions, and foot/ankle dysfunction. He has treated patients ranging in age from 5 weeks to over ninety years old. His specialties include spine care, joint replacement rehabilitation, post-operative fracture management, prosthetic training, pediatric orthopedics, and foot/ankle biomechanics. Bud enjoys working with challenging orthopedic cases and has a passion for helping people adopt healthy lifestyles.
As a lifelong athlete, Bud continues to stay active with running and weight training. He has coached youth soccer and served as the team physical therapist for the Chesapeake Charge professional women’s soccer team.
Bud is also a freelance writer who has written about health, wellness, ergonomics, personal development, and practice management. His writing has appeared online and in the national magazine for the private practice section of the American Physical Therapy Association.
